Just playing

I really do have to finish replacing the backscene and its mounting board on the long wall but keep putting it off till later.  In the meantime I've been having fun on the Rio Bozo down in the Plughole Falls gorge.

Finally got me a bear! He's not interested in the ceanothus he's looking for honey

I decided to model a fallen tree down in the gorge.  A suitable twig with some distressing by an Exacto saw blade then some paint and away we go.

A twig and some seafoam,

The wildflowers are enjoying the early summer micro climate in the gorge.  The fir tree is a cheap n nasty plastic one dressed with flock "needles" I think it's pretty good for something I'd normally throw in the junk bin.

  1. Beautiful gorge, trestle!!, and new stranded log. Your rushing water looks good too. I got in on a group order of conifer trees from a company called Architrees. https://www.google.ca/search?q=architrees&tbm=isch&imgil=GkMEu-K_5E0ZCM%253A%253BA0KGqnRwAvXybM%253Bh Their trees are very good, though the trunks are a little thin. An excellent modeller and good friend who gave a clinic on modelling BC scenery organized the order. He bought plastic tubing to to thicken up the trunks just right, though tape or putty could also be used. I have not played with these since receiving my share of the order. I just drilled 3 holes and placed them on some rock above my tunnel for now. Excellent branching and foliage. If you'd like, I can send you some. First, I'll post my own photos on TL to show you how they look and see if you like them. Interested?
