I've built a dumping shed to go on the end of the tramway where the ore cars are tipped into the long drop chute. The two main walls were board on board experimental walls I built in the dim and distant past and which were so nice I kept them in my scrapbox. I made up an open bottomed box which I fitted beneath the shed which just sits around the chute head and saves the hassle of trying to join the whole damn thing in situ. A rather neat solution I think. (pats self on back). I also had a trestle to hand which I'd built years ago that I've put at the cliff edge. This will have to be fitted into the clifftop as it's a tad high. When I install the tramway and all structures in this complex I'll add timber braces here and there to stabilise it against the cliff. That's the structural work done. I now have to get my hands on some K&L fine T section styrene rods to lay as tram track and then I can finish this project. Next I need to clean the tunnel track and fix in the tunnel mouth for once and for all.

Good to see so much of it coming together and looking good, Barry. Your account underscores the policy of trying things out, not throwing unfinished assemblies & other old bits o' stuff away, and keeping at it!

DeleteHalf of my present layout is made from bits previously scrapped! It just goes to show that what was once rubbish can become better class rubbish with a bit of creative spark!
