Laying a summer dirt road

I trowelled in the basic road, in this case a country lane using plaster.  That was then coloured to hide the "snow".  Then I trowelled and brushed on a thickish layer of finely ground clay mixed with water to a stiff paste.  Once shaped this was left to dry. The result is a beautifully cracked dirt road. A coating of water/whiteglue mix was dropped onto the surface and allowed to dry. This doesn't affect the cracks but seals the clay down.

Clay over plaster road line.

Road dried and verges added

The result

Scale Ho cracks.
